Our Story
The Farmer Brown Cares story begins with a deeply personal vision and a genuine desire to do good. Founded by John Michael Brown, owner of Farmer Brown Insurance Agency, the organization was born out of a desire to give back to the community and make a difference in the lives of those who have not had the same opportunities.
John has traveled to over 112 countries, and these experiences have profoundly transformed him. Through his travels, he witnessed cultures and realities that differed greatly from his own, especially in cities with limited resources. This exposure to the world allowed him to develop a deep empathy for those less fortunate, understanding that opportunities are not equal for all.
With gratitude for the life and opportunities he received, John decided to take action. Driven by his desire to contribute, he created Farmer Brown Cares in Medellin, Colombia, a city full of potential, but also full of challenges for those who lack sufficient resources.
Its vision was clear: to provide support to those who need it most, offering tools for change through education and empowerment.
Since its founding, it has had a significant impact. Thanks to the passion and dedication of his team, we have been able to help more than 40 families and 200 underprivileged children, providing them with educational support and accompaniment to improve their lives and future prospects.

Mission
To transform the lives of underprivileged children in Medellin-Colombia through education, empowering them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a better future. We believe that access to education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and that is why we focus on offering unique opportunities that make a difference in their lives.
Our main objective is to teach English and programming skills, essential areas in a globalized and technological world. These tools not only improve the children’s current situation, but also open up new job opportunities and personal development.
The road to success is not an easy one, but we are committed to providing the support, resources and guidance necessary for children and their families to thrive. By investing in their education and well-being, we aim to provide them with a solid foundation on which to build their dreams and reach their full potential.

To become a leading organization in social transformation through education, empowering the children of Medellín to reach their full potential. We aspire to expand our initiatives to more vulnerable communities, offering educational resources such as English, technology, leadership and entrepreneurship tools. We believe in a future where our beneficiaries are agents of change in their communities, contributing to the social, economic and cultural development of Medellín and Colombia as a whole.
